I am very proud to say that for the second year running I have gained my Newborn safety Certification from the MPA, this is a subject I care a lot about. There are lots and lots of very talented photographers out there and Newborns seem to be the in thing right now. So how do you know if you are choosing the right person?
This is one of the reasons I chose to gain my certification. It is a lot of hard work, you have to show a panel of judges your work, your health and safety policy, your insurances and explain how you pose and handle these tiny little humans. As a mum myself I would want to know that person knows exactly what they are doing. They hold your Newborn probably as much as your midwife did, you have the most trust in your midwife and why shouldn’t you have with your Newborn Photographer.
There are various elements of newborn safety when photographing your little bundles of joy – Heat, positioning, their comfort, their eating patterns, their sleeping patterns, the list goes on and on. Of course, I have condensed this down for you, as it would probably be quite boring to read, however, I have designed my studio for it to be as cosy and comfortable for you as it is for your darling baby.
Everything I use is natural, I do not buy synthetic wool made hats or wraps, all on my props are safe and checked completely before use. My studio is satisfied and everything is washed in natural baby washing powder. I only use natural cleaning products because I would never risk any harm at all to any of those beautiful little darlings.
If you have any questions about my newborn process please feel free to drop me an email or a text and I will happily go through it with you before your session.
